LOOkX GroupPowerful unified commerce for fast-growing beauty brand

Case summary

Summary of collaboration with LOOkX cosmetics

About LOOkX

LOOkX Group is a fast growing Dutch producer of cosmetics under several proprietary brands. The company serves both consumers and business customers across Europe. Its products are used by dermatologists, beauty professionals, retailers and hundreds of salons, including more than five hundred beauty salons in the Netherlands.

With an active growth strategy that regularly adds new brands and companies, the complexity of the digital landscape continues to increase. Scalability, brand consistency and efficient management of multiple digital channels therefore play an increasingly important role.

The platform provides a strong foundation, but NextChapter's the engaged and supportive team completes the picture. We look forward to continuing to build and optimize together.

Ambitions and challenges

The various acquisitions LOOkX completed in a relatively short period of time also introduced new challenges. The acquired companies operated on different e commerce platforms, which meant there was little synergy between processes, data and sales channels. Each brand had its own system and way of working, which made it difficult to achieve operational efficiency and economies of scale.

This left the company with a clear strategic decision: connect the existing platforms, or move to one central e-commerce platform that brings together all brands and sales channels.

Roxanne Houter, Marketing Manager at LOOkX: "Previously all of our websites were running on different e commerce systems, which meant you had to log in separately for every site. The CMS environments were less intuitive and did not work consistently."

What LOOkX Group needed?

LOOkX was looking for a scalable Unified Commerce platform that could bring together all brands and webshops. A PIM system needed to manage product information across multiple brands and channels.

The platform also needed to support both multibrand webshops and brand stores, complemented by a B2B dealer portal and a brand website. Integrations with marketing tools, payment providers, logistics partners and marketplaces were essential to support international sales.

Ease of use was also an important requirement. The team wanted to manage multiple webshops from one environment, with consistent workflows for content management, campaigns and product updates.

What NextChapter has accomplished for LOOkX

With the multiˣ suite from NextChapter, LOOkX now operates on one integrated Unified Commerce platform where all digital activities come together.

The PIM forms the foundation for all product information. Product data is managed here across different brands, languages and sales channels, ensuring consistency while allowing channel specific content where required.

The OMS processes orders from multiple D2C webshops, a B2B portal and marketplace sales within one workflow. Inventory and order information remain synchronized with the ERP system and fulfilment partners.

Multiple webshops are managed through a single CMS. New shops can be set up based on existing templates and integrations, while each webshop retains its own brand identity.

Roxanne: "With NextChapter we now have one account for all our websites, currently six and still growing. It is ideal that new shops can be added while functioning in the same way as the existing ones, both for B2B and B2C."

In addition, the following integrations and features have been implemented:

Integrations

  • Payment providers (PSP's)

  • Logistic partners

  • Marketing tools (EMP, CDP, Socials)

  • Reviews

  • Marketplaces (Channelengine & Bol.com)

The result

LOOkX now manages multiple brands, webshops and sales channels from a single environment. Where previously different systems operated side by side, the team now works with one platform, one login and one consistent way of working.

This provides greater visibility, more efficient management and a solid foundation for further growth. New webshops, brands or markets can be added within the same technical structure, while each label maintains its own brand identity.

Roxanne Houter: "NextChapter actively thinks along with us and publishes quarterly release notes with their latest developments. They continuously work on optimizations and offer additional services that help us further improve and expand our websites."

Today the following shops and website run on the NextChapter multiˣ suite:

The future

LOOkX Group continues to invest in further growth, brand development and international expansion. The focus is on improving the usability of the webshops, strengthening brand identity and increasing customer loyalty across both consumer and professional markets.

With the NextChapter multiˣ suite as its technical foundation, LOOkX can continue to develop these ambitions without the digital infrastructure becoming a limitation. Because NextChapter manages the platform and its ongoing development, the LOOkX team can fully focus on where the brand truly makes a difference: product innovation, brand experience and further international growth.
